Life as a Goldfish

What kind of Goldfish are you?
BIG POND, LITTLE FISH
Every entrepreneur rejects the indignity of the lack of resources provided by an old establishment, in order to establish a new dignity of resources for themselves and others.
BIG FISH, LITTLE POND
Entrepreneurs specialise, often to become the biggest fish in their little pond, outgrowing the environment.
SMART FISH, NO POND
Real leadership is not about jumping out of one fish bowl into another. It is about reinventing the way that fish jump, where they jump to and leaving behind the limitations of gold fish bowls altogether.
ROOM TO GROW
When you think about GOLD FISH, they will only grow to the size of the fish bowl. In the same way, our goals and dreams grow only to the size of our imagination and our expectations.
EXPECT THE UNIVERSE
We have historically chosen the small confines of a known territory and the comfort of tribes for our safety. Even when the tribe hurts us, we remain with the tribe, seeking to avoid imaginary dangers and gratefully accept our ongoing indignity.
FEAR IS NO LONGER REAL
Gone are the predators that once endangered us. The real danger has become the exploitation and limitations which we agreed to in the pursuit of our safety. Such limitations have historically hurt us far more than the imagined fears that go with our freedom.
WHAT IS SANITY?
Knowing that fear is not always real, perhaps it is time to ask ourselves, how do I define sanity?
SANITY
Sanity is learning to do something different, not wanting or acting to repeat historical failures.
INSANITY
Insanity is doing the same thing that brought us harm again and again, and then expecting a different result. Consider this a beautiful rebellion:
Maybe you could IMAGINE living outside the bowl, become FEARLESS enough to make the leap, to be the fishtronaut that allows your fishiverse to become bigger, to go where no Goldfish has gone before. Fish food for thought.
